Essential Functions of this role:
As a customer-focused technical product expert, the Technicians will apply highly developed troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills, and sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems to install new packaging machinery equipment. Additional tasks include providing preventive maintenance and on-site equipment repair.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Central USA but may travel beyond the Central as required. After training travel will reduce to 60-70% (Mon-Fri). Majority of training will take place in the greater New England area.
- Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Engage with customer on site, analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problem, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
- Share information with team members, customers, and your supervisor to help prioritize and keep customer apprised of corrective actions and equipment status.
- Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
- Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.
Requirements: Four plus years of maintenance experience
- - servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery.
- Mandatory preference of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on food processing and packaging machinery
- Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications.
- Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
- Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership.
- 80% travel during the week (Mon-Fri) during training, 60-70% travel after training
- Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired.
- Bilingual English-Spanish skills are a bonus.
