Position Summary
The Creative Services Director is responsible for driving the development of a recognizable, seamless, creative design for the YWCA across various internal and external communication platforms, including websites, social media, advertisements, and print materials. This position manages and collaborates with cross-functional teams of employees and contractors to ensure the organization’s brand and messages are professionally and effectively communicated.
Responsibilities
- Graphic Design and layout
- Web Design and navigation for internet and intranet sites
- Create a seamless digital experience for internal and external audiences
- Develop and design strategic marketing and communications materials to support the organization’s communications, public relations, advertising, fundraising, printing, publications, newsletters, special events, social media and website needs.
- Produce materials including signage, presentations, invitations, campaign collateral, impact reports, website and social media graphics and other graphic design and layout projects as assigned.
- Develop and implement creative strategies that align with YWCA USA’s branding and marketing objectives.
- Collaborate with the VP and Director of Marketing and Communications on the planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing campaigns, ensuring they are on-time and within budget.
- Conceptualize and produce compelling content for various media channels, including digital, print, video, social media and website.
- Maintain brand consistency across all communications and marketing materials, and campaigns.
- Lead creative brainstorming sessions, facilitate creative project kickoffs, and participate in the planning process for collateral material and campaign development.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Fosters a collaborative work environment and promotes cross-functional communication and cooperation.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and development, and other departments within YWCA USA to ensure campaign and partnership success.
- Manages relationships with external vendors, agencies, and consultants to support the development and production of collateral materials.

- Serves as a champion for YWCA USA's mission and values, ensuring campaigns and partnerships reflect and support the organization's commitment to racial and gender justice.

Experience, Education, Proficiencies, and Values
● Experience, Education, and Certifications
○ Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, and/or graphic design or a related field.
○ 8 years of experience in graphic design and layout.
○ Graphic design experience with digital, print, social media, website projects a must.
○ Collateral development, production coordination, social media marketing, and online engagement strategies – including website content development and management.
○ Demonstrated storytelling experience.
○ Familiarity with the YWCA USA network, local associations, and the issues they address.
○ Knowledge of AP Style.
○ Video production and still photography experience.
● Proficiencies
○ Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire action and support.
○ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
○ Extensive knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
○ Knowledge of best practices in website design and layout, and Squarespace preferred
○ Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
○ Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
○ Proficiency in digital and traditional marketing channels, with a focus on data-driven strategies and tactics.
○ Strong understanding of best practices in website design and navigation.

● YWCA USA is a hybrid of physical and remote office environments; you will collaborate with colleagues who are based across the United States. You should be prepared to work remotely and travel to the organization’s headquarters in Washington, DC.
● Travel for meetings, events, or site visits is required.
● Availability to work Monday through Friday and occasionally on nights and weekends as needed.
● The role requires long periods of sitting and using a computer and some light physical tasks, such as printing, filing, etc.
● Ability to communicate effectively in person, on video, and via phone.
Compensation
● $130,000 Annually
This offered starting salary is non-negotiable.
