Description:
Supervise plant operating engineers and other assigned personnel who operate all University - heating, cooling and electrical generating and distribution systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervises plant operating engineers and other assigned personnel, including timecard approval.
- Selects and requisitions replacement parts for equipment.
- Assists and trains in the proper operation of power plant electrical generating equipment; refrigeration equipment, pumps, compressors and other building mechanical equipment.
- Determines work required by other trades and sets up necessary work orders.
- Operates energy management systems, read and check gauges, meters and thermometers.
- Assists in formulating and carrying out a preventive maintenance program.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four (4) years (48 months ) of work experience in the maintenance and operation of steam and power plant equipment.
- One (1) year (12 months) of work experience in a position comparable to the Steam and Power Plant III.
- Possession of the current/valid licenses and certificates, as required by the employing institution. (Which are a Stationary Engineer’s License and a Universal Card. Please be sure to list or upload them to your application. Otherwise, your exam request may be denied).
