CoSA VFX has an opportunity for a full-time Senior Help Desk Technician supporting its remote VFX studio team. This role will be part of the Technology group, primarily supporting its North American artists and personnel. While focused on end-user support, it will also support the systems administrator with on-premises needs at the studio’s data center. For this reason, the role will be Las Vegas, NV-based, with intermittent physical data center responsibilities there.
Work schedule hours are 10 am - 7 pm PST with a one-hour lunch. Due to the nature of the role, OT on evenings and weekends may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide user helpdesk support, image and deploy both VDI and physical user workstations, create and terminate user accounts on multiple systems according to protocol, install and configure Mac and Windows software as needed.
- Ensure that helpdesk requests are addressed in a timely fashion and are escalated as appropriate.
- Troubleshoot base computer hardware, software, and OS issues, along with supporting Visual Effects (DCC) software issues represent a significant part of this position’s responsibilities.
- Maintain workstation images (virtual and physical) with current requirements as well assure appropriate images are deployed.
- Assist the onboarding of users to IT systems, ensuring new users are properly oriented and ready to contribute.
- Carry out proper record keeping and tracking of systems, software, and users; regularly reconcile tracking with utilization - inventory control, user licenses, or computer access to the network.
- Support installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware for dedicated render farm nodes, storage, networking, and other infrastructure systems, as needed and directed.
- Assist the IT team with on-premises support at its data center, hardware restarts, testing and other tasks with support from the team.
- Proactively raise concerns, engaging and contributing to the problem-solving process.
- Participate in technical research and testing in conjunction with the technology team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal education and/or certification in computer systems preferred – such as A+ credentials.
- One to two years of system helpdesk experience in a Media/Entertainment or Game production environment preferred.
- Solid experience and fluency in Mac and Windows is required; additional Linux experience is preferred.
- Some experience with Visual Effects applications strongly preferred; these applications include Nuke, Maya, Houdini, After Effects, and Thinkbox Deadline.
- Seasoned in administering Active Directory and Exchange accounts preferred.
- Experience with floating license servers (FlexLM, RLM, etc.) very helpful
- Understanding of technical security concerns in professional environment
- Working knowledge of basic TCP/IP administration of DNS, DHCP, and Static assignments required.
- Basic experience with and/or understanding of networking required, including familiarity with configuration, admin of static IP addresses, switching / VLAN’s / Firewall and standard structured cabling.
- Basic scripting experience in Bash, Windows CMD/PowerShell, or Python preferred.
- Reliable transportation in the Las Vegas, NV area, both during and after business hours.
- OT/Weekends availability as needed, based on studio needs.

The wage range for this full-time position is $30.00 - $35.00 annually which is a good faith assessment associated with this position/location only and will be assessed dependent on the skills and background of each candidate.
