This position is part of the regional Claim and Analysis Center, as part of thyssenkrupp Steering unit division, established to meet customer requirements and support problem resolution for warranty returns in the region. The engineering office and laboratory are located in Fishers, Indiana. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and facilitate analysis-related activities, focusing on technical root cause investigations. The position is designated as onsite, requiring the employee to perform their duties in the company’s designated lab. Hybrid or remote work arrangements are not supported by this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform technical root cause analysis, particularly for electrical issues, while supporting mechanical and noise-related investigations.
- Definition and execution of failure-oriented tests, measurements, and evaluations, and ensure proper documentation of results.
- Coordinate and manage day-to-day analysis lab activities, including scheduling and task delegation.
- Coordinate improvement initiatives based on key performance indicators and customer requirements.
- Oversee lab processes, review documentation, and assist with the introduction of new equipment or tools.
- Facilitate conflict resolution measures within the team, ensuring urgent matters are addressed promptly.
- Monitor equipment needs, maintenance, and calibration activities, and assist with purchase orders when necessary.
- Serve as the main point of communication for the analysis lab team, working closely with the Head of the Claim and Analysis Center, and escalating issues when needed.
- Develop and maintain the skill and competence matrix for team members and assist in the development and follow-up of development plans.
- Coordinate training sessions and monitor the status of training plans to ensure continuous team development.
- Assist in audit and customer visit preparations within the analysis lab.
- Perform other tasks in alignment with individual goal-setting agreements and the company’s quality strategy.
Candidates preferably meet with the following criteria:
- Strong teamwork and conflict resolution skills, with an emphasis on resource management.
- E/E background with experience in Electrical Control Units.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of hardware and software interfaces, particularly in steering system design.
- Strong customer focus during daily work is a must.
- Experience with electrical/mechanical testing and measurement equipment and methods.
- Self-motivated, analytical, and organized, with the ability to work systematically to fulfill requirements.
- Familiarity with IATF standards, field failure analysis, ESD, and health & safety standards is a plus
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role works directly with the Head of the Claim and Analysis Center to manage daily lab operations. This role is not supervisory but involves coordinating tasks, facilitating communication, and ensuring smooth workflow within the lab environment.
This position is an on-site role working out of Fishers, IN office.
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience in manufacturing process, laboratory, quality assurance, research and development are an advantage. Managerial experience is a plus.
