Position Summary:
The Regional Account Representative is responsible for supporting the retention and growth of existing customers (account management) and in the identification and acquisition of new customers. Position provides sales support for the Southern California territory as well as the Western United States with services including, but not limited to, new customer research and outreach, existing customer follow-up, potential customer presentations/meetings, proposal development, customer onboarding, and trade show support. This role will also be responsible for identifying potential customers, generating new business opportunities, and managing leads through the sales pipeline on a regional and national level working closely with Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Regional Sales Managers.
SmartCover utilizes water technology distributors and manufacturer’s representatives (channel partners) in the region and the candidate will be responsible for supporting their sales initiatives and providing sales support to these partners as well.
Job Duties:
● Support the sales process from customer research through implementation.
● Generate leads through data mining, research of prospective customer organizations and targeted outreach
● Qualify and develop national incoming leads, to be handed off to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
● Qualify national leads, elevated initially by the SDRs within the SmartCover sales team.
● Support regional sales activities through quote creation and proposal development
● Follow-up with existing customers to confirm customer satisfaction and support build-out initiatives
● Support the entry of new orders into Salesforce following SmartCover’s Order Entry Process
● Support new customer onboarding, including mysmartcover.com web site training and customer follow-up
● Develop relationships with end user customers and sales team
● Develop case studies and presentation of papers at local and national conferences, as appropriate.
● Complete periodic reviews of client data to evaluate performance and overall quality
● Develop and maintain rigorous standards for sales documentation, customer information and reporting
● Work in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and SmartCover™ Policies, Procedures and Code of Conduct.
● Establish, qualify, and maintain relationships with end user customers within wastewater agencies/contracting companies/engineering firms/industrial users/etc.
● Provide sales support to channel partners, tracking opportunities and working closely to create interest, qualify, develop and close opportunities.
● Represent SmartCover at California and other Western U.S. conferences and seminars and other wastewater industry events.

Job Requirements:
· Work experience in sales and/or sales support (e.g. Applications Engineer) with a water, wastewater or smart water technology company. Preference will be given to candidates with Municipal collection systems and/or smart water monitoring solutions experience
· Demonstrated capability to establish, develop and maintain relationships within a customer organization
· Extremely strong written/verbal communications and interpersonal skills. Must be an active listener and influencer in the relationship development process.
· Maintain an outgoing, positive, friendly, and customer-focused attitude.

Education Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental or related field
· Preference will be given to candidates with water, wastewater or smart water technology company experience
· Minimum of 3 years of sales and/or sales support experience
Physical Demands:
· Body Positions: Includes standing, sitting, walking, lifting (up to 60 lbs), talking, hearing and handling.
· Work may be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment and outdoors in a non-controlled environment.
· Typical noise level is low to moderate.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
