Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Qualifications: At least 3 years of Human Resources experience. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM – CP credential preferred.
Job Summary: Support recruitment initiatives, facilitate hiring processes, orientation of new employees, compensation and classification review, and job description maintenance. Responsible for managing all aspects of employee benefits programs and leave administration. This role requires a strong understanding of benefits regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Benefits Administration
- Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other fringe benefits.
- Coordinate enrollment, changes, and terminations of benefits for employees.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits programs.
- Collaborate with insurance brokers, benefit vendors, and other third-party administrators to resolve issues and optimize benefits offerings.
- Conduct periodic reviews and analysis of benefit plans to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
- Leads Wellness Committee
- Leave Management
- Administer various types of leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, sick leave, and other company-specific policies.
- Educate employees on leave policies, procedures, and entitlements.
- Coordinate leave processes with HR, managers, and employees to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of employee leave usage, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Monitor and track leave balances, eligibility, and usage to ensure accurate accruals and utilization.
- Coordinates with the Safety and Security Manager on the workplace injury process and serves on the district Safety Committee.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Stay current with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to Human Resources
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and other relevant legislation.
- Prepare and file required government reports, such as Form 5500, ACA filings, and other regulatory disclosures.
- Assist in conducting audits and internal reviews to ensure data accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Employee Support and Communication
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees seeking information or assistance regarding human resources
- Develop and deliver employee communications, presentations, and training sessions related to benefits and leave policies.
- Collaborate with HR team members to address employee concerns and resolve issues
- Serves as the point person for employee relations and other HR concerns in absence of the HR Director.
- Recruitment and Retention
- Assists with job posting and advertising processes.
- Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing employee recognition programs and events to foster a positive and engaging work culture.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely. Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. Prolonged periods of sitting. Occasional travel for recruitment or training purposes.
